In the 1960s, when I was just a young child, God spoke to me and prophesied that my life was destined to have the power of God rest upon it. I had no idea what that could possibly mean. Over the next decades, Jesus revealed Himself to me and introduced me to the power of His Holy Spirit. He then fulfilled what He had prophesied.
I became a professional pilot and airline captain for American Airlines as my career. What excited me the most, however, was that when I shared Jesus with people, they began to receive their own miraculous experiences with Him. It was really quite spectacular at times. The sick began to be healed, lives were transformed, and even the dead were raised. Demons arose in opposition but were cast out with the power in His name.
The Journey, a memoir, details what I saw, heard, and learned through a lifetime of signs, wonders, miracles, and God-encounters, wrapped within my life in aviation. The Miracle Landing
My engine was dead. I would not be hearing any roar springing back to life to save me tonight.
“Houston, I’m not going to make the airport. You might as well call out the fire trucks and crash crew.”
I then began to pray, “Jesus, if it is Your plan that I come to meet You tonight, that is fine with me; but if not, You had better do something fast because I am about out of time.”
The split-second that the breath of those final words left my lips, the voice of the Houston air traffic controller came booming over the cockpit radio speaker as if in perfect timing to answer my prayer.
The controller said, “You should be over Loop 610 about right now.”
